The K2 teachers and children went out of the school for our first excursion of the year. We went to East Coast for a beach clean-up on 23 February 2024. We were very happy to start off the year with such a meaningful outing.

Our school has been passionate in caring for the environment in the little ways that we can. We aim to influence the next generation to be mindful and compassionate individuals that loves the earth.

Before the trip, the children were briefed on the safety rules and the significance of the excursion. They learned that the beach clean-up helps to keep the ocean ecosystem healthy and protects the sea creatures.

On the way back to the school, the children chatted animatedly and recalled their visits to East Coast Park with their friends. They were thrilled to share their memories with their teachers too.

Despite the hot day, the children were in high spirits! They showed their compassion and empathy by earnestly picking up the litters they found at the beach. In total, we collected an estimation of 2kg of litters.

The children were so happy and had a meaningful experience.
