The K2 children were learning all about China and Malaysia in this term 2. The K2 teachers planned an excursion to the Gardens by the Bay where the children had a fruitful learning journey in the Chinese and Malay Heritage Gardens.

Children toured both gardens with teachers exploring each element presented such as the various plants and architecture. Children had ample opportunities to explore the gardens through their senses.

The teachers encouraged children to use their senses to look, smell and to touch and feel the plants seen at the environment around them. Children were able to relate some of their experiences such as the pandan leaves in the Malay Garden they recalled that they had used for their tang yuan cookery activity and relating the bamboo plants in the Chinese Garden to the lesson, they had learnt about Giant Pandas in China.

It was an interesting outdoor learning experience for the children!
