The K2 Graduation Concert was held at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (PLGMS) on 27 October 2018 (Saturday). This year, our theme is ‘Grateful Hearts’.
The children wore their bright coloured and gorgeous costumes on the day of the concert. They came prepared with full make-up accompanied by their family members who eagerly waited in excitement to watch their little ones perform on stage.
The children sang in unison during the opening and finale songs and waited for their turns to perform their items depicting the value of gratitude on stage. They showcased their dances, songs and skits which they had worked and practised extremely hard for the past few months. With the teachers working efficiently backstage, the children proudly danced, sang and acted as the audience applauded and cheered at the end of each item. They smiled and posed like stars for the photographers.
The proudest moment was when the parents witnessed their child coming on stage to receive their graduation certificate. There were tears of joys on the parents’ faces as their child’s name was called and they came on stage to receive the certificate from the Guests of Honour.
Before the concert came to an end, Ms Marie Rose Ng our principal came on stage for the blessing time. With a slow soothing song playing in the background, she walked slowly around the children and blessed them with holy water and prayed for them. As the concert came to an end, there was thunderous applause and cheers for the staff and children. We would also like to thank the Guests of Honour (namely Ms Tan Poh Cheng and Sister Cecilia Liew) who took time off to attend our concert. Most of all, we would like to thank God who had blessed us with a successful and memorable concert!
